Save Our Sonoma Valley Grange Hall!
RAISE THE ROOF
Save Sonoma Valley Grange #407!
Did you know that Sonoma Valley Grange and Hall has been serving our local community for 100 years? Initially founded as a home for Valley farmers and food producers, we have in the ensuing years evolved into a vital local meeting and gathering place for all.
But now our future is at risk. As we celebrated our century anniversary, we learned that the Hall had severely damaged trusses needing immediate replacement plus a new roof to facilitate these repairs. The estimated cost is at least $200,000. We have Planning Department approval to continue renting our kitchen which is our only source of operational income. Without these repairs the remainder of the building cannot be used.
As a longstanding center for the community, we have presented recreational and educational activities for all ages, hosted community dinners and our popular Pancake breakfasts, offered the facility for pop-up events and party rentals, and proudly opened our doors as a hub for food distribution for those in need.
The Grange restrooms and commercial kitchen were renovated in 2012 to accommodate more event rentals and food distribution to those unhoused in the area. Our rental rates are affordable for birthdays, baptisms, retirements, graduations, weddings, quinceaneras, and anniversary parties. Nonprofits and local organizations rent the hall for community meetings.
During the Sonoma County wildfires of 2017, the hall was a center for food distribution for those misplaced by the fires. We also facilitated supplying food through the Pandemic years and have proposed becoming a resiliency center for the local area of Boyes Hot Springs in case of emergencies.
Sonoma Valley Grange has been the heart of the Valley since 1924. With your help, we can ensure that Grange #407 continues to serve our vibrant local community and be a valuable resource to support our mission of Healthy Farms, Healthy Food, Healthy Community.
